Ask yourself this- Whats the difference between the US and those other countries?
lets say compared to Canada?
Canada has less population than the state of California. taxes are more than 50%. They have less mouths to feed.
Canada has no nuclear weapons- very small military and little to no intelligence
With Defense spending, we ( the US) spend more than the next 26 countries
combined,
25 of whom are allies.
Why?
simple. the US babysits the world . Without the US existing, the entire planet would be under either Japanese( Emperor Hirohito and his brutal regime), Nazi Germany or Soviet Union rule. And you would all have no freedom. You dont like to admit it but its true. The world is constantly in denial.
intel cost alot of money. having state of the art tanks, plans, weapons nuclear missiles and subs costs ALOT of money.

and so much of the US is poor living off govt assistance( unlike Canada)
Quite simply? We cannot afford it unless you take all the other entitlements out
Can the blacks and latinos in the ghetto live without food stamps? I doubt that very much. Not even for 1 year. -

I tend to agree that Canada has very small intelligence (rimshot. Scattered laughter and applause).
Why not spend less of the 700 B you currently spend annually on military, spend more on social services? It's not like you are protecting anyone from Russia: You guys are currently debating whether you should play seductively with Putin's balls or go enthusiastically right for his johnson.
But even if you don't, you could afford it. You don't spend 4% of your budget on your military.
And your health system passes the costs on to the consumer. -

i just explained why . The money has to come from somewhere. It doesnt grow on trees
I have no doubt that the US could save alot of money cutting services, but even if they cut all the nonessential ones and leave only the essential ones,… it still wont be enough

Don't mind this stupid condescending Canadian, Dear Doctor. He doesn't understand, could never understand, the need to keep a huge lumbering unnecessary infantry afloat in the age of nuclear weapons, special ops, and cyber warfare, in order to placate certain political and regional interests - how could he? And somebody indeed has to pay for that.
