I haven't seen this discussed on here and I'm interesting in establishing the common consensus.

Perhaps this is one solution. However, why are the left so pro-Palestine? I thought they hate women being slashed, gays being beheaded etc? It's a strange world we live in!

Why is the right so pro-Israel?
Israel has a quasi-socialist economy, is very liberal on most social issues, was in part created by the UN (I thought rightists HATED the UN and didn't recognize its authority? hmm), and for all the foreign aid and US tax dollars Israel receives, it gives us nothing in return except more broken promises to stop settlement expansion, ease the suffering in Gaza and work towards a two-state solution which it never does and has no intention of ever doing. Israel is a headache that we don't need. Our lopsided support for Israel has made us less safe and given us enemies all over the Muslim world (read bin Laden's post-9/11 'letter to America' again … he lists our support for Israel as one of two main reasons as to why we were attacked on 9/11).
As for the Palestinians, not all of them are Muslims. Unfortunately, Hamas is an Islamic organization and wants to build an Islamic state for the Palestinian people while the PLO/Fatah is secular and prefers a democratic model. Palestinians seem to be split in their support for these two groups. I didn't know that women were being "slashed" and gays were being beheaded in Gaza and West Bank. Can you provide some proof of that?
BTW, over a million Palestinians are Christians. Why is their suffering under Israeli occupation ignored by American conservatives and evangelicals? -

Israel one of the most progressive, democratic countries in the world
I guess shooting unarmed protesters and bombing women and children and treating Arabs like second class citizens and stealing other people's land in violation of international law is "progressive and democratic" in the fantasy world of Fox News. lol -

I am Scottish and gaelic is my natural tongue.
Ah! You're forgiven. Not knowing the difference between "who" and "whom," many native English speakers will choose the latter when in doubt.
A pro-Israel Gael–very interesting!
