Obama's inauguration crowd was larger because of these major factors:
- The inherent historical fact that America had just elected it's first black President
- The natural excitement of this fact attracted a lot of people. They wanted to see history.
- It occurred on a national holiday (MLK day) so more people were off work that day.
- The weather was better.
- Republicans are not typically as interested in publically celebrating their political victories as Democrats are.
- Many people stayed away to keep themselves and their families away from protestors.
That's really are there is to say. To continue to denigrate Trumps inaugural is pretty meaningless in light of these facts.
The people who voted for Trump (and there were lots of them) just basically wanted him to get to work and fulfill his promises.
