To my humble opinion there should be a party in the USA that wants better relationships to BOTH - Iran and Russia! And doesn't forget there are deep cultural roots with the old Europe, too.
And if there is no such party it's time to found such a party!

USA should be on great terms with Russia. Both are majority White, Christian and great contributors to western civilization. That Communism of the 20th century was just imposed onto the Rus and Slavic peoples (Eastern Orthodox) by the Bolsheviks, who perpetrated one of the most heinous holocausts ever seen on this planet, aka Red Terror.
