I have an old money heritage, three generations. My father himself was/is middle class though. I grew up around a bunch of old money traditions. I learned to fish, fence, ride horses, we played croquet and tennis. Had a family reunion every 8 years at a 18,000 square foot plantation style house in Appomattox virginia my great great grandfather built. Part of my name is also part of my fathers and great grandfathers name.
I didn't inherit from the "old" money side. I inherited from my grandfather who was married to my paternal grandmother. His family was 2 generations of wealth.

I've always heard it's the old money that gets into that. Lots of stories about various royalty. Lord Mountbatten for instance was a pedophile and friend of Jimmy Savile until he got blown up on a boat by the IRA.
