Some goodbyes we say others we live through without knowing they will become a goodbye or a last time you did this or saw that person etc
We’ve all said goodbyes to loved ones or to a work we had or a situation we were living.
I thought of that realizing how powerful a goodbye can be and how painful or healing it can be depending on the situation.
It puts things into a different perspective. I recently said goodbye to a relationship of many years but I don’t think this was my last goodbye to that person since we share friends and family in common.
So I can accept any goodbye if I can accept the notion that a goodbye comes in many forms and on many levels.
Yah, like the old saying: When one door closes, another opens.
Or the meaning of the Tarot's Death card. It doesn't necessarily mean physical death,
but rather the end of a life phase and the beginning of a new one.
The older we get, the more often we must say goodbye.
That's painful at funerals. One of my godmothers lived to a very old age. When she was over 90, she mused that she now had to say goodbye to almost all of her friends and that no one would be at her funeral.
