There are still all sorts of things I would like to do. Stay the winter in Antarctica. Search for the Orang Pendek in Sumatra. Try 5-MeO-DMT in an isolation tank. Among other things.

Life's purpose is not meaningless pleasure. Life's purpose is a journey towards eternity.
                Jesus bless you

And what is life but a series of enjoyments to become desensitized to? Each experience is duller than the last. Listen to your favorite song for the umpteenth time and it ceases to stir you; those exact notes arranged in that particular order will never affect you quite the same way again. That applies on some scale to just about everything.
A dam apparently broke in Laos a few days ago, undoubtedly killing numerous people and leaving their families in ruin, and I honest to God couldn't care less - because my last sliver of empathy and will to live was stripped away when famed Comic Steve Lake showed up in a tinychat typing "Knock knock" over and over.

I want to hug a polar bear just once before I die.
