A legit answer. His best work–admitting that it's a VERY wide category–was on ONCE UPON A TIME IN THE WEST.

Oooh yes. Are you also a fan of Fabio Frizzi, and Goblin perhaps?

Of course. Lots of other Italians in there too when one is contemplating the best.

You're spending too much time mingling with uncivilized rabble, not like us cultured folks who know our CANNIBAL HOLOCAUSTs.

Yeah, it totally recasts what you see in the movie. Ortolani is great. Ruggero Deodato was put on trial for killing his actors in that movie! Can there be any greater testament to a film's effectiveness? I'd LOVE to do something so convincing I was prosecuted for it!

😂 How it got to court Idk. Surely a welfare check on the actors would suffice.

In 2022, Williams was appointed an Honorary Knight Commander of the Order of the British Empire (KBE) by Queen Elizabeth II, "for services to film music".
With 54 Oscar nominations, Williams currently holds the record for the most Oscar nominations for a living person,[1][2] and is the second most nominated person in Academy Awards history behind Walt Disney with 59, as well as the only person in the history of the Academy Awards to have received nominations in seven consecutive decades. Forty-eight of Williams's Oscar nominations are for Best Original Score and five are for Best Original Song. He won four Oscars for Best Original Score and one for Best Scoring: Adaptation and Original Song Score (Fiddler on the Roof).
Williams has won the Grammy Awards for Best Instrumental Composition and Best Score Soundtrack for Visual Media several times for his scores for Star Wars, Close Encounters of the Third Kind, Superman, The Empire Strikes Back, E.T. the Extraterrestrial, Munich, Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, The Book Thief, The Force Awakens and Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny. The competition includes composers of instrumental music of any genre.

Williams had an incredibly creative burst from the end of the '60s into the early '80s, but his work gets really spotty after that.

John Barry deserves a mention too.

This may sound kind of random but Barry's work on the much-maligned 1976 KING KONG is excellent. He apparently thought so too–he recycled some of it for BODY HEAT years later.

For posterity reasons, I will say that Ludwig Goransson is ****ing excellent and will probably eclipse Hans Zimmer eventually.
