They just made up that myth to explain how we got here.

I wasn't raised Catholic but my parents sent me to Catholic schools for a bunch of years thinking it would be a better fit for me than public schools.
At the time I hated all the rules and restrictions such as dress codes and hair lengths and looking back on it the dogma and brainwashing of that cult.
I agree with the statement that religion is poison.

God did not create cancer, he allowed it to come on the scene. I personally believe that it was caused by pesticides on tobacco leaves and other crops that we eat. It is God's will that we find a cure for it, and again I believe that silver has great potential. Robert Beck and Robert Becker did some research and concluded that silver can cure cancer, and more recently one company has done research using silver nano particles and says that these can cure some forms of cancer.

Isiah 45:7 "I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things."
Evil here is usually glossed as
natural
evil (as opposed to moral evil which comes through the wrong use of free will). Natural evil includes misfortunes and catastrophes such as earthquakes and diseases like cancer.
I think you'll find things are a little more complicated than that.
