Pluralis Majestatis?
In the good old US, we’re supposed to use “they” as a singular pronoun now because we might offend someone who doesn’t identify as a “he” or “she”. So if we don’t know the gender of someone, by default, we must use “they”. Lol -

I got and put up a no sales sign for the front which includes no religion on it.
We have not had any disturbances since then even before the pandemic.
You could get one of those or make your own and put it up and take it with you if you ever move.
