DVDs look blurry on modern large TVs that most people have.
Can you name an example where a blu-ray was stopped from working for consumers? Seems like an unreasonable worry.

I'm not against blu-rays. They are just more expensive.
I was referencing digital purchases
If they look blurry on your TV, then you need to adjust the resolution.
