-The In Memoriam segment was really long, but some artists kind of got the shaft. Also, some of the music seemed too upbeat for the occasion, and there was too much focus on the live performers instead of the people who passed away. Sometimes there was a full view of the stage, so you could barely read the names on the screen.
Yeah, that is exactly how I felt too. -

At first I thought Proud Mary was inappropriate for Tina since that was a hit when Ike was still making her a hit with his fist.
I would think they should have done a song after she went independent and solo which would have reflected the words of the tribute Opie gave her moments before the song.
(Notice how Opie left out her abusive past?)
Then I looked it up and saw that Tina still performed PM as Tina.
So maybe it was OK but I still don't think it was the right song to do as a tribute to her.
Esp. since it was a cover song that was a hit for someone else. -

I guess they wanted to perform one of her most famous songs, and maybe they thought Tina would've wanted them to perform something upbeat?
On a related note, "The Hollywood Reporter" didn't even know the name of the song!

Did you notice the goof when they started to play him during the Steve tribute to Tony?
Then when they didn't come back to it for awhile I thought that was it!
And was glad to hear another song besides that one of his they play to death.
Schrodinger's Cat walks into a bar, and doesn't.
