or blu ray or 4k bc of the fact that certain movies from the '80s and '70s look best and better than in any higher video and sound quality than vhs tape when grainy and in vhs tape format quality video and sound?
i'm talking about movies like the first 8 friday the 13th films and the first 3 sleepaway camp films and the first 2 evil dead films.

one thing that is very important to mention about vhs tapes that is better than dvds is i never had a problem with a vhs tape movie skipping like i do constantly with dvd. dvds are obsolete bc of this problem that happens with almost every movie i ever rented that is on dvd.
the worst thign that could happen with a vhs tape movie is the picture quality is very grainy but at least you arent' annoyed every 5 seconds with the scene pausing and stopping for a few seconds and you losing the flow of a movie watching experience.
and then when it comes back to playing you lose about 5 seconds of the movie you were watching bc the movie skipped bc the disc is so bad quality in the materials that it is made out of that it's extremely weak material so weak that it gets scratched by just setting it down lightly on a table.

The only ones I still own on VHS are the ones that aren't on DVD/BluRay yet or DVDs that went OOP in the late '90s to early 2000s and are too expensive.
Stuff like…
Made in USA with Chris Penn
Out of Bounds with Jenny Wright
Dead Man on Campus
The full length original theatrical cut of The Alamo
I also collect what were termed 'Video Nasties' in the UK, Cannibal Holocaust, Evil Dead, Zombie Flesh Eaters etc.
