n the 143rd anniversary of his birth, a likeness of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel at 182 metres tall will be unveiled as the largest statue in the world bar none.
The statue will measure twice the height of the Statue of Liberty and nine times that of the Angel of the North. It will be more than 50 metres taller than China’s Spring Temple Buddha, the world’s current record holder, at 128 metres. -

Sorry, but that is perhaps the ugliest statue I've ever seen and why they want to make that the largest statue on earth I have no clue. How dare they? Look at all the great statues it dwarfs. This world is sure ****ed up.

I think those wacky Indians kind of overdid that! You know, if that monstrosity ever fell into the river, it would make one HELL of a splash!

We are planning one even taller, a 750 foot tall (damn it, let's use American, not 'metric'!) statue of Don Sr. swinging a golf club.
We are going to put it where that Statue of Liberty thing is right now, who cares about that. -

— 7 years ago(November 01, 2018 04:08 AM)I saw this about a month ago when I was Googling largest statues. It's hard to find on Google maps.
I have megalaphobia, which is a fear of large objects, but more specifically, man-made statues and landmarks. Even giant water towers when they're isolated.
If it's late at night, and I'm driving alone, and I see a statue or landmark in the distance, knowing I have to pass it, I go into a panic attack. It's even hard to Google them. There's a freaky one in Hamburg, Germany of a woman lying in the lake there.
It's the isolation that creeps me out. And I've been skydiving before. But I'd rather go skydiving again than drive to a statue alone, late at night, park my car, and walk up close to it. Any day of the week.
Years ago, I was with my ex in Ohio, it was after a bar, around 2 AM, not any traffic out, I look to my right, and THERE'S THIS BIG GIANT JESUS STATUE WITH HIS ARMS UP. I wasn't even anticipating it, it just snuck up on me, out of nowhere, and what's worse, it wasn't even lit up at the time. I could make out the outline and the grey smog around. My ex was looking at me all weird as I started to freak out. It was cool, though,
I am addicted to you; I have tasted your mind, and I cannot forgo its flavor.
