I had to write a book report about that novel in high school.
Wuthering Heights is one of those novels where the story/plot sounds more interesting when someone else summarizes it for you than when reading the actual author tell the story.
I was so freaking bored reading that novel. I would fall asleep while reading it. So, I made my parents drive me to the public library so I could borrow the Cliff Notes version of Wuthering Heights.
The cliff notes version of the story sounded intriguing. But whenever I would pick up the novel to read it, I would just get bored again.
It's Emily's writing. She's boring. -

It's a 19 century gothic romance novel, dumbass. If I wanted to sound smart I'd post about Dostoevsky. Don't even try, foo'.

I read most of it in high school… just enough to get a passing grade on the test.
Our English teachers had this cruel penchant for assigning stuff like that over the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays.
You wouldn't believe the loud GROANS when they'd tell a coupla guys to go to the shelves at the back of the room and get the paperbacks of
Gone with the Wind
or
Wuthering Heights
and pass them out.
Talk about a good way to ruin a holiday and try to make us hate reading for pleasure.
Of course I'm the real Bongo.
