I read most of it in high school… just enough to get a passing grade on the test.
Our English teachers had this cruel penchant for assigning stuff like that over the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays.
You wouldn't believe the loud GROANS when they'd tell a coupla guys to go to the shelves at the back of the room and get the paperbacks of
Gone with the Wind
or
Wuthering Heights
and pass them out.
Talk about a good way to ruin a holiday and try to make us hate reading for pleasure.
Of course I'm the real Bongo. -

this is intriguing
reminded me of having to read 'Pride and Prejudice'
I gave 'Pride and Prejudice and Zombies' a bonified shot a couple of years back - literally did nothing for me like Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter ……
trying to better educated myself on the 'finer points' of life and keep an open mind - always looking to learn and grown and discover new horizons
