I wouldn't mind training for 1/2 year to be a veterinary assistant, but I'm pursuing violin. Veterinary assisting can be around $30K-$40K/year but also $20K/year. I want to do animal rescue. I couldn't find how much veterinary assistants specifically in animal rescue make. I can get this certification online. Maybe, I can do it in the group home and then get out of there and make all this money. I also will practice violin. I can play outside or on my electric violin with headphones, in the group home.
Prior, I had considered being a concierge or hospital receptionist, which you can get certification for but don't have to. They make $20K-$25K/year. I just hope my knuckles wouldn't hurt like when I folded clothes at Macy's, after awhile. I had compression gloves but had to replace them with regular gloves to cover the dry skin on my fingers so it would not damage the clothes by scratching them.
It's just rewarding to see animals cope and heal with problems. I am particularly interested in helping stray cats and kittens. I also like when starving dogs are nourished from malnutrition into health. I wouldn't mind other animals, pets or wild but mostly pets because they are so affectionate with other humans. I don't want to work with animals just to check them up, though. I want animal rescue or something else exciting. I bet it would also be fun to do research on animals. That's not a hands on job all the time but sometimes I'm pretty sure. I guess the most you can do is be a veterinary assistant rehabilitating animals to the wild.

I only gave the hamster away so I could move to a group home.
Yes, I am leaving at the end of April for a group home in an area I used to live, in the city Ellen DeGeneres is from, by New Orleans. I got rid of most everything it seems, just have to see that I ship some stuff there and pack my suitcase. My aunt is looking for a plane ticket. I got the place free with Medicaid, SSI, and Food Stamps. It's for women, and you share a room, with 5 rooms. I'm hoping I can go to college. There's a college there with a program in Vet Tech I can complete in 1 year or another in 2 years, or somewhere else online in maybe 4 semesters. That'll get my butt to work while I strive towards my real goal of violin in Germany, unless I chose not to do vet tech and practice violin in the backyard of the group home or on an electric violin with headphones.

I'd like to work with animals too! How gratifying and satisfying that would be.

You don't need a degree and it's hands on learning, but I hope to get a certificate first. I might be interested in what's known as a Vet Tech. I want to be the one to administer things physically, but to be a vet surgeon is 4 years beyond vet school, which is 4 years of post-Bachelor studies. They go in debt but can make $500K/year. So, that's 8 years after Pre-Vet. I'd be age 42 + however many years I remain in undergraduate school. That's over the hill, I might be 50, starting out. This is a temporary thing for me or I'll just turn in, possibly continue my education. After all, it has no requirement but a love for animals. I'm so into these numbers because I'm looking at those nifty apartments with amenities, which are $15K/year. I wonder if I should go for a certificate, associate's, or bachelor's. I am not sure if the bachelor's degree is necessarily 4 years when done online. The certificate is maybe 2 semesters at one school, and the associate's is 2 years. It's in the same city as the group home I'm going to, or I can do it online elsewhere. I just thought in state would work out better financially, but I could go in debt or get a grant from FAFSA possibly, not sure with these online schools so gotta ask. Also, I've seen videos of cat rescues by Asians, and they also look good and really attract me, I can follow along with their experience on camera. It would be something to get to interact with and go through things with a blind cat and even better to heal it. I just watched one on Asians and they found a stray kitten with its family that couldn't see and they put some gel on the eyes and the cornea or something regrew. It was quite miraculous that he actually healed and was only a kitten. They lived on the side of someone's house, and they cleaned up the area and let them stay and probably fed them. Yes, it would be quite a social career. It would be therapeutic for the worker, too.

Working in a toy store would be cool.

Thing about work is, if your passion is your source of income, the pressure and stress can get to the point where it stops being fun. So, there’s probably a job I’d love but it’d also be a job I’d sometimes hate.
                  Stop.

Yes! That's why I am not working and going back to college as a music major on a new instrument.
