Ugh, the only reason I’m above water is cos the price of Boeing keeps growing and offsetting my Tesla losses. Not sure if I should just take the L or wait until they recover. People were saying Tesla stock was overpriced for months so this kind of correction was expected. The trouble is that Musk is too much of a wildcard. He says one thing and the market completely flips out

Tesla died almost 100 years ago. he's dust to the wind.
Tesla is a funny company to invest in. last year, it delivered just under 500,000 cars. Tesla is valued more than all American and japanese automakers–svu,trucks;whereas Tesla is cars only!!– and between Ford and Toyota they delivered 21 million vehicles.
another thing is in Tesla's prospectus. written right there in nice 12-point type is the declaration that Tesla receives tax credits from both the federal and state governments. these tax credits form a NOT insignifican source of profit since they can offset losses.
to me, Tesla's valuation is driven entirely by social media hype and the legions of fan boys, girls, trannies, and possibly bots. Tesla makes a product which very few people either care about or can come close to buying.<<== Tesla cleans the toilet on financing the rubes which buy the cars so that part is solid and a true winner.
on the other hand, Musk's other companies particularly space-x and especially solar city have real growth potential. if these got bundled into a "holding company" where you could invest in that and not the highly volatile Tesla only, then that would benefiit the investor. BUT a holding company is boring and bland and that doesnt feed the hype need of Musk's ego. so it probs wont happen.
Boeing is another strange choice: we have a pandemic and have had for a year. from late feb of last year to 31 december, domestic air travel was down about 90%. same for international. Boeing basically sold NO planes. if it wasnt for sweetheart Fed gov bailouts, this turkey would have crashed and burned long ago.
speaking of crashing and burning: nobody trusts Boeing after the 737 mAX fiasco. Airlines and countries are looking to airbus and the chingchongs to be the airplane supplier for the future. yes, Boeing has recently had some sales; but i suspect there's gonna be more problems with the 737 max flight control system which caused those deaths last year. also, since the software "fixes" were so involved and complicated, i believe the fixes will create their own problems and more planes will crash. Boeing can not survive another scandal.
in conclusion: think about divorcing yourself from these two stocks because for different reasons they are both highly volatile and suspect to very negative price decreases. -

Here’s where my ignorance comes through, because I definitely thought all of those ventures were bundled in TESLA. Basically, we have to wait until they become like Alphabet (aka Google)? Oyyy I’m less interested in them now lol

Interesting. I am invested in both Boeing and Airbus since they dominate the airplane manufacturing industry. The way I see it, even if Boeing does continue to **** up, it’s not like a new competitor can take their place. Both of them essentially seesaw with one another and I could profit from both at the right times.
