Why are other countries blaming the US on the global financial crisis?
Why can't they just admit that nobody wants to spend right now?
Blaming the US for the economy in other countries is like saying we also caused Global Warming on Mars.

You've never heard anything? It's all over the international news.

Um, because it is your fault? There's a little thing called the Global Economy.

            Indeed.
Who was the country that claimed to be "the world's only superpower" and dictated other countries' financial policies (directly or via UNO, IMF or NATO)?
Remember what happened to countries that refused to take part in this "globalization"?
            Yours,

Because so goes the United States, so goes the rest of the world. The U.S. deregulated the derivatives market, which led to this massive meltdown - Alan Greenspan, Phil Gramm and others are the arbiters of this crisis while a lack of consumer confidence is merely a symptom of the larger problem - boneheaded policy and strategy.

Yeah. This is how the Depression started in the 30s. Through one country having problems.

Funny how Americans consider themselves to be the leaders of the free world and most powerful country in the world but act all innocent when someone suggests the global financial crisis may have something to do with the USA's own crisis. It's really easy to figure out that it started in the U.S. anyway- I remember hearing news reports about the crisis in the USA over a year ago. Things didn't turn global until Lehman Brothers went legs-up a few months ago.
