The boots I bought are leather, so you have to condition them before going out. The black ones with the faux fur lining have a leather sole. The dark brown ones that are not lined have a black rubber sole. They both are lace-up boots with an attached tongue, but they have a side zipper, which I really like. I can lace them to the right size, and then just slide into them and zip them up without having to lace them each time.
Mine are the style of tactical boots, so I have the ankle support, which I like.
I've worn the lined ones out to walk on the snow and there's no leaking into the boots. I haven't worn the unlined ones yet.

I've been thinking about replacing my barefoot shoes. the soles have worn all the way through in certain places and I can't wear them outside anymore.

I've never heard of them. I googled them though.

I googled them too and that's not what I saw.

There are different styles. I think the main thing is that they're flat.

I'm thinking of getting these for next winter.
I hate stiff boots and dealing with laces.

I like them. I prefer the low cut type too, although I do like the medium cut. I don't like high boots.

Mine don't look like that. They look like Doc Martins or tactical boots, except of course, they have a drop heel and are barefoot style, so the whole toebox is very wide.
Especially after wearing women's regular boots for so long where styles tend to be focused on a tapered toe for fashion, these are incredible! They also allow your Achilles tendon to stretch out and relax. Being very lightweight as well, these things are just so much more comfortable than I ever expected!

I need a slight elevated heal or else I get bad lower back pain. Do these have arch support? I can’t walk barefoot.

There is no arch support. What's really weird is that I've always used orthotics and arch supports in my shoes, especially my sneakers. I still wear them in my sneakers. However, something about the zero drop seems to feel really good. I'll have to see how it goes the more I wear them.

I just need some type of arch support, or again I get bad lower back pain. Flat shoes bother my back.

You could probably put arch supports in the boots/shoes. The thing about these boots is that they are so roomy, I'd imagine you could fit supports in without tightening the shoe.
I used to have to wear a heeled shoe for my back as well, which is why I'm so baffled at how and why these seem to be so comfortable. I wasn't expecting this. I could never wear Vans or other flat, low-profile shoes or sneakers without a lot of pain.
