Fuckboys are players: the typical frat boy. They are manipulative, misogynistic men who objectify women whilst criticizing them for being the sexual beings they want them to be.
There are those who use the term unironically.
I find the term stupid, so I only use it in the context of a joke. It's as meaningless as calling someone a chav, in my opinion.

I had a few professors who prided themselves in being "impossible As" when I was a biomedical science major, too. They would test on minutiae mentioned once over the course of ten three-hour sessions. Good on you for circumventing that and getting a good grade regardless.

You've got this!! Test anxiety is definitely hard to overcome, but just keep in mind that you've not yet failed a class, and there's no reason you'll start now.

This is where I think the term gets confusing. And why I, and other guys, don't really see it as derogatory when women use it.
Maybe there should be a separate term for those men that lie to get sex?
