Lol. I have my housekeeper not only wash and change my sheets once a week, I make her press them too. Such a cozy feeling, when you lay down to fresh cleaned, pressed sheets.

Again, I was a textile manager. The quality of sheets are determined by the thread count.
High thread count is softer. Low thread count is like sleeping on a plastic tarp.
Thread count refers to the number of horizontal and vertical threads per square inch. Generally, the higher the thread count, the softer the sheet, and the more likely it will wear well-or even soften-over time.
Good sheets range anywhere from 200 to 800, although you'll occasionally see numbers over 1,000.

Lol. Dude, I used to oversee the manufacture of this stuff. It's all in the weave. The higher the thread count the softer. It makes a huge difference. It has nothing to do with snobbery. Put two side by side and you'll see the difference. Cotton is cotton. There is no "****ty" cotton versus "non-****ty" cotton. Stop talking outta your ass. I scheduled production of this textile crap for 5 years. I know my stuff.

Nope. Auratek is well known in the industry. They're trying to justify their product because they cut corners to save money. Never trust a capitalist merchandiser.
Sure, there are other factors. But thread count is an easy and quantifiable way for consumers to judge quality. Stick to what you know. I spent years in that industry.

I'm just telling you that thread count is a great way to judge quality. Low thread count is rough, high thread count is softer. Quality control is a professional discipline and it applies to every product out there. It has nothing to do with "snobbery".

Pfffffft. Rub your fingers over a loose weave floor mat and compare that to a tight weave bed sheet and even you'll see the difference. It matters. We're talking industry standard quality control.

With the floor mat example I'm trying to explain to you how and why weave and thread count make a difference. A close weave bed sheet is softer and more comfortable than a loose weave bed sheet. This is not rocket science. It's quality control. I can tell the difference.
