I wasn't aware of it when the first one opened in 96. I think my first time eating there was in maybe 03 or or 04, and a location opened in town around a year later.
It was never my choice. One of my friends at the time loved it. Always ate there and Waffle House with him, much to my chagrin. -

I never got the hype, even when it was just a Louisiana chain. We have better chains.
It's not bad. It's always fresh, crispy on the outside, and juicy on the inside, but it's underseasoned. The fries are generic. Like, probably Sysco.
One thing that has gone downhill are the size of the tenders. They've shrunk.
Still would rather have that over something like McDonald's.
