Raw clams? I've heard of raw oysters. I can't do it. It's like a giant snot sliding down your throat. Living on the coast and being raised with seafood, I'm the odd duck out when it comes to some of the stuff I won't ear.

Oh yeah, clams on the half shell, preferably little necks.

I just looked them up. I've heard of clams on the half shell. They still look "snotty" to me.
There was this great seafood restaurant back home that served just about everything sea or fresh water related. They had an "oyster bar" when you walked in to sit at (and order) while you were waiting. A group of us went out to celebrate and everyone (else) got sushi. The idea of eating anything raw just made me gag. One of the more
              determined
women there insisted I would simply adore it if I just tried it, but (her caveat) was that part of the enjoyment was to put the entire piece of sushi into my mouth; it wasn't a food meant to be bit into or eaten in pieces. (I was young, foolish, and gave in to peer pressure). I took a piece, and as predicted, I gagged and spit it out. I have a love of seafood (or brook trout), but nothing could get me to try any of that stuff raw. A California Roll is just fine for me.
That same "friend" insisted I'd enjoy caviar if I gave it a chance. I buckled and had the same reaction. Besides, all I could think of were the fish eggs in jars that my Grampa used for bait when fishing!

Some caviars (the less expensive ones) taste like crap. The really good ones I like. Not that I eat caviar all the time. I like sushi and sashimi. They are high grade fish.

It's a mouth-feel thing for me. I have a really sensitive palate. I don't like the feel of raw fish or fish eggs. I know this will make every chef bristle, but I also like my fish "overcooked". I don't like when there's even a wee bit of gelatinous texture. It sounds strange, but I don't like fishy tastes.

                    Probably good deep fried.
