Which pears are better?

Most of the fruit I buy is in containers. Strawberries, kiwi and pineapple

I meant the strawberries and pineapple. They charge more if it's in a container in general

Oh yeah, because your paying for the time it took them to cut them up. I love fresh pineapple and tastes nothing like the canned stuff.
Sister recently bought one
I bought some oranges that were listed as blood oranges but they weren't

What about Bosc?
I'm trying to find the Asian pears now.
Edit: The Bosc are brown, so I'm wondering if they're like the Barlett ones and are the gritty ones. I haven't eaten pears in years, so I don't remember which ones I used to get.
Edit #2: I just checked, and they're out of Asian pears!

THAT is the one I was trying to avoid! I didn't really know how to describe it, but it's gritty. I didn't know which type of pear was gritty. I'm looking for just a "clean" pear, and I've had them before, but I don't remember the name of them. I'm using them for smoothies, so definitely want them "grit-free"! So, stay away from Barlett pears then?

I went this morning and they're still out of Asian pears, so I picked up an Anjou and Green pear. I skipped over the Bartletts completely. I'm glad you mentioned the gritty part because that's the part I was thinking of. I use them in my green smoothies mixed with kale, cucumber, ginger, lemon as well as pear, but the pear is clean and crisp. I made the mistake of using a Barlett one time and my smoothie tasted/felt like there was a bit of sand in there.

Haha yeah they are terribly gritty. I used to make smoothies but just can’t find a protein powder I like. Many are gritty or have a nasty aftertaste. I can’t do artificial sweeteners. They make me feel ill. Asian pears are sometimes hard to get. Good luck with that.

I can't do artificial sweeteners either. They either give me migraines or they make me sick. I use unsweetened, unflavoured whey protein powder. If I want chocolate, I'll just add cacao powder directly. The plain lets me make my own flavours as I go. I'll have to check and see which brand I've got in the kitchen now. But the one I use is grass-fed, organic, 5 ingredients. The type of protein, and source, really does matter, because as you said, it can take what would be a great smoothie and make it taste terrible if the wrong protein is added (or if too much is used). I also use unsweetened coconut milk or unsweetened coconut water for my smoothies.

Let me know which protein powder you use. I was just using bovine collagen but it’s not enough. I need gluten-free but whey doesn’t bother me. Plant-based products I have issues with. They have a lot of lead in them as well. I stay away from sugar as well. Thanks.
