Like in the 70s and 80s?
Not the current one, but before Showbiz Pizza Place bought it in the late 80s. That's when they replaced the animatronic show with their characters.
Showbiz Pizza Place started out as a competitor with Chuck E. Cheese PTT, and they had a 3-stage animatronic show called the Rock-a-Fire Explosion.
Showbiz Pizza Place didn't own the full rights to the Rock-a-Fire Explosion characters, though. And the creative team that owned RAFE refused to sell them to Showbiz.
But Chuck E. Cheese did own their characters. When Showbiz bought out CEC, and they now owned the rights to CEC characters, and replaced the Rock-a-Fire Explosion characters with CEC characters.
Chuck E. Cheese Pizza Time Theatre, before Showbiz merger, 70s
Original Showbiz Pizza Place, before buying Chuck E. Cheese PTT, 80s
Chuck E. Cheese, after buyout from Showbiz, 90s
It's quite obvious here they're using the original animatronics with different skin. Chuck E. on the left is the wolf, hence why he's holding his house out like he has a puppet attached, Pasqually the drummer is the space dog drummer, Helen Henny is the Mitzi Mozzorella, the mouse. Bill E. Bob's endoskeleton is the only one they didn't use again.
