Yeah, the molasses might be a bit too strong in flavor all by itself, so a little maple syrup mixed in helps the flavor. I think they make a good blend.

It's been quite a while since I had any maple syrup. I prefer honey on my pancakes for these reasons.

1. It's thicker
2. It's usually cheaper
3. It keeps forever without refrigeration.
4. I prefer the taste.
   I've wanted to try molasses though. I wonder if it goes well with honey.
