In the thread with the list of nominations (
https://www.filmboards.com/board/t/2021-Emmy-nominations-full-list-3354709/
), I noticed "Ted Lasso" was nominated several times, so I figured it would be this year's Schitt Creek (Schitt's Creek won a lot of awards last year). -

I posted it for people who DO care. If you don't care, why bother opening the thread, and why comment at all?
I'm going to reply "I don't care" in every one of your threads from now on!

Meh.
I don't watch enough prime time to be interested.
I dunno.
Either shows have changed where I don't get into them like I used to or I have changed or both.
I am more into the retro shows anyway. -

I'm not paying full attention to it, but it's not just network primetime shows that are nominated.
It was kind of interesting last year, because I was curious how they were going to do a "virtual" awards show. -

Back in the day when it was just the networks you could watch any of the shows that were nominated or winning awards but now you probably haven't even heard of a lot of the shows and aren't subscribing to most of the platforms that they appear on. It's a bunch of shows I cannot watch and never will. It seems irrelevant now.

I agree. I've been saying for years that it doesn't make sense (in the Emmys) to put network shows up against shows on HBO or Netflix (for example), because non-network shows don't have the same restraints (use of swears, commercial breaks, etc.) that network shows have.

Plus with those you mention, and a lot more, you have to subscribe to it to watch as well as pay for a technical device to watch it on.
Like I don't know how to watch Apple TV or Amazon and I just don't really care to find out unless it comes onto the TV automatically we already watch.
I am just too lazy and comfortable to try to learn to figure it out plus I am watching enough things already.
