My dad had a 22 year career in the Coast Guard. He fought in WWII and was awarded the Purple Heart and Bronze Star medals. His service will always be appreciated by my family..what's left of us!

Good for your dad! My dad was in WWII, in the Merchant Marines. His mom had to sign for him because he was underage. Uncles were in different branches of service during that war. Friends and extended family were in Vietnam, several came home with many problems.
