I just saw this in a one of my small produce stores for the first time. It looks like a cross between broccoli and cauliflower from beneath the sea. I can't wait to try it. Dinner/dining out is set for the next few nights, and I want it fresh, so I didn't buy it today.
Anyone have any experience with it?

I haven't tried it (nor seen it for sale!) yet, but a friend posted about it on Facebook the other day.
Its beautiful-looking, reminds me of a Succulent plant.
I'd say this cloud is Cumulo Nimbus.

To me it was a lot like cauliflower, but a bit tastier. I call it the fractal plant.

The first time I bought Romanesco, I almost couldn't bring myself to cook it. It's so pretty!
I've cooked it a few wayslightly sauteed with olive oil and garlic. I threw in a pinch of red pepper flakes for a zing. I've also roasted it in the oven with olive oil, salt and black pepper. My daughter's favorite way recipe is this one she found from Jaime Oliver.

Thanks, Nuts & Jodilyn it's hard to go wrong with a Jamie Oliver-guided dish.
I just replied to Scotty, about tonight's dinner. I thought about doing it tonight, but I'm going to have mashed potatoes, so I'll wait until I don't have any other major starchy dish. It's a definite for trying sometime this week.
