I bought some on Sat, and few of them had mold on them. It happens a lot. I keep them in an air tight container and put them in the fridge. It just gets frustrating.

The 3 best things that have worked for me re: berries are:
- As soon as you get them home, take them out of the plastic or paper basket AT ONCE & check them for mold. Discard the moldy ones right then.
- Do not wash berries until right before use.
- I bought a plastic "Berry Keeper" from amazon.com. I believe it was a Progressive brand.
These really helped me. They are also top-rack dishwasher safe!
I'd say this cloud is Cumulo Nimbus.

Thanks for the info. :O)
I do take them out of the plastic box right away. I only wash them as I use them. I put them in an air tight container. I had to throw them all out. I didn't' want to take the chance of getting sick. I'll have to check out that Strawberry saver. Thanks!

I put them in an air tight container.
Don't do that, they need room to breathe. An air tight container is OK if you put them in there in the morning and then eat them a few hours later as a snack, but generally speaking they should be in a ventilated type of container, or a ziploc bag that isn't sealed all the way. -

I agree. They need air for circulation, mold grows best in airtight or damp conditions.
That's why I love that berry keeper I mentioned. It has air holes/drainage holes.
But it also has a space for a reservoir for CERTAIN fruits/veggies that need moisture.yet the fruit/veggies never touch the water.
I'd say this cloud is Cumulo Nimbus.

I soak my berries in a water and vinegar rinse and let them dry completely before storing them in the fridge. I know everyone says don't wash them until you use them but I've gotten almost 2 weeks out of my berries doing it this way.
