I miss the ritual and tactile experience of physical media. I know you can still buy it, and I do have my old DVDs and VHS, but the experience of going to a video rental store is over.
I love the smell of VHS and it's so satisfying putting a tape in. Some older, gritty movies IMO look better. Like watching Texas Chainsaw Massacre on VHS just adds to the grittiness. Though, for most movies, I prefer better quality. I don't want everything to be super crisp and clear though. Like I miss seeing the subtle film grain in older films. -

Completely agree. I actually have an old CRT TV too, for when I want to watch VHS or play old cartridges, because I've found that they look like pure **** on newer model TVs.
No algorithm will ever be able to compete with a video store, and that's why I love my local record store so much. I've been going there pretty much since the day it opened and the owner knows what I like, whether it just came out last week or is 50 years old.

I had one, but it was on the floor of my closet when we had a flood from a hurricane because I was using the widescreen at the time, so it got ****ed up.
It was great to play old video games. CRTs not only lack the lag new TVs have, but they look better. These designs were made for older TVs. Like, here's a comparison.
