I think my request was pretty reasonable. When I put a serious tag on my topic that means no stupid, off-topic insults. There are plenty of other threads where people can do their ****-talking if they want to. You really won't give me this one thing I ask for? Fucking dickhead, dude.
You can forget about me making any topics about the Oscars, movies, etc, in the future. I'm not going to make them just to get gay eye bullshit in return. That makes no ****ing sense. -

i prefer the useful topics stay on topic and have been deleting some of the trolling, but this isn't something that goes just one way. every time aj puts up a thread, you call him some slur, same for pagg threads. it's always unprovoked. i could take the grand step of removing all comments that are remotely offensive, but we would risk becoming overly sanitized. there is a reason people visit this site to post or lurk, and it is the freedom. you enjoy that freedom as much as anyone, maybe more than anyone. you wouldn't like it here if it was the watered down environment of moviechat or imdbv2, or you would be spending much more time on those sites than on filmboards. sure the vibe can get rough at times, but so could imdb. that is what this site has always been about trying to recreate, because imdb, even with all of its faults, is what i believe people miss.
there is a way to end the constant attacks and that is to ignore it. i asked you where this feud began for a reason. it's because you don't even know where it began. i know that, because i asked the same question all the way back in 2017, and you didn't even know why then. because there is no reason. so if the fighting has no purpose, that tells me you must just enjoy the fight, otherwise you could just let it go. if you really want it to stop, that is what you should do. ignore it and it will go away.
look at how mechanic handled it. 6 months ago he was getting it as bad or worse than you get it now, today he is a zen master, and on the rare occasion he's attacked now, he doesn't even flinch. he didn't achieve that by coming to me to complain, he just learned to stop making himself a target. i don't like seeing bullying, but when i've seen the person being bullied engage in bullying themselves, it's very hard for me to step in to resolve it. i'm just trying to be objective here, like a good admin. if that stuff does start to takeover useful threads, i will remove it, but i'll be honest, i'm doing that for me, not for you. i'm doing it because i want good threads. if you want the fighting to stop entirely, that is in your hands. -

If they want to make a serious topic with no insults they could use the serious tag too. My request was reasonable, and it's something that's needed around here to keep things from becoming too negative.

i think aj and pagg have too much self respect to put up a [serious] tag. i don't think they should even have to put up a serious tag to let you know they don't want you harassing them. don't be silly. besides, the serious tag is entirely counterproductive. it makes you look weak. do you think a bully sees that and says "better not troll him, he's being serious right now"? you have to stop with the serious tag stuff.

I'm not upset or something, it's just annoying because I was trying to start a fun thread. It's also weird the conversation happened here instead of ITTY's "weigh in" thread.
