Remember how outlaws had a price on their head in the old west, and whoever brought them in, dead or alive, received the bounty?
What happened if you dragged some poor dead slob halfway across the country to collect the reward, only to find out it's not the right guy? I always wondered what would happen in that situation. Would the sheriff and you laugh about it over drinks, no harm done, before you left town or would they hang you for murder?

If it's a white guy that got murdered it's probably a big deal. Black, Chinese, or Indijuns, who cares? Mexicans or Canadians, maybe depends on what part of the country you're in.
