This is exceptional reading material, and often required reading in the corporate world. Have you ever read it? It can be applied to just about any situation. It's just a very brief little book but there's some interesting, and quite valid observations and deconstructions.

I'm sure it's a fine read – to be honest, I recall going over it a bit when I was in middle school, though I don't remember much of the book itself. It just strikes me as a book that people only read because they want to appear intelligent when they make numerous references to it.

Could be. I know it's a really popular book, and gets referenced a lot.
I found out about it because one of my Directors had referred to it in a meeting many years ago and I was curious, so I picked it up and liked it. Like anything else, you can find some interesting points to apply to life. Has useful bits to it.
How you view it is probably how I feel when referring to video games and sports. Just not my cup of tea.
