No news that Orcas attack boats…I've posted that before.
    Usually they destroy the rudders.
    Orcas attack more severe now.
There are first reasonable underwater records.

i'm team Orca on this all the way in. humans are not built, created, evolved to be in/on the water; so we are the invasive species in the Orca's bathtub; and therefore we deserve what happens to us.
sign me up for some disaster tourism as orca's sink some pleasure boats!

            • have the sonars on these vessels pissed-off the orcas?
            • have the vessels transited through orca breeding grounds and the Orcs acting territorial to protect baby orcas?
Moby-Dick: amazingly complex novel, weird, brutal, stunningly original. Wrath of Khan: Khan quotes Ahab:" From Hell's heart I stab at thee!", back when movies still gave a damn about respecting their intended audience.

And on this end here's another member of
                "Team Orca"
                ! ☺
I like the idea also that Orcas fight back, but they (as other animals) don't think like that.
                Animals don't take
                revenge
                as humans do.
But they defend and that's the simple explanation I favourite.
Especially modern motor boats are fast and hurt water inhabitants who cannot escape
                THAT
                speed.
Look at the scars of the Orca's back. ☻
Whale experts continue to debate what the reasons could be.
                Another new video:
However, whale experts and friends try to cool the people down.
Orcas are curious and playful, intelligent and funny. β™₯
And they communicate with each other, they learn from each other.
More in the North they reported how an Orca started to balance a fish on his nose. 🐟
Suddenly all (male) Orcas around did the same, probably to impress the girlies. ☺
                Became a kind of
                'fish juggle fashion'
                .
                In the oceans were
                NO ORCA ATTACK ON HUMANS
                reported…for now.
Those boat attacks appear to me like:
SLOW DOWN - bump, bump - PUT YOUR NOISY SYSTEMS OFF - bump, bump - SLOW DOWN
"Or we Orcas will demolish and steal your rudders, ha!"
                Orcas could easily destroy boats
                completely
                if they would want to.
Well, I may reply to the others later…especially Hungry's statement. ☺
Sadly, the first dead Orcas with head shots were found at Spain's coast. πŸ’”

I used to love the ocean but now don't even want to go near it, let alone in or on it. It's become a scary place, with what appears to be aggressive, coordinated attacks by it's inhabitants. I wonder if something actually attacked that Titan sub. Perhaps there's some kind of real life Namor putting this **** together. Guess we will find out soon enough when Atlantis Rises.

                    What you said
                    'touched'
                    many things.
Mainly that I think for a longer time also, that those sailor's yam weren't only tales.
While I don't think it's useful to be scared and sailors are notorious liars, sorry.
But respectful to the sea, yes…
                    "Nordsee ist Mordsee"
(= North Sea is Murder Sea).
As I wouldn't cuddle with a bear, I wouldn't cuddle with the North Sea.
Be able to swim and to watch/understand the tides can be helpful though.
                    Perhaps you heard of Rungholt?
                    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rungholt
One place of many they suspect to be legendary Atlantis.
And I agree, perhaps a marine animal attacked the Titan.
The Titan was fragile anyhow, one little bump could've been enough.
And nowadays we know (no joke) that huge kraken live in the depth.

Sean Kelly and his colleagues from the water rescue organization Surf Life Saving Australia examined which causes of death, other than drowning, are the most common when swimming, snorkeling, surfing or boating on Australian coasts.
They surveyed the causes of 1,667 deaths that occurred on Australian shores between 2012 and 2022.
The deceased were all older than 16 years; younger people were not included in the data.
                              63% drowned
                              35% cardiac arrest or accident
02% marine animals (sharks or jellyfish)
It was primarily males who died.
Almost 86% of the group who didn't die by drowning!
People over the age of 50 are also significantly more likely to die from cardiovascular problems than younger people. Often these people were far from the coast - they went out in a boat.
Due to the greater distance, the rescue could only arrive with a delay and ultimately not in time.
