Oh no! The best you can hope for is that someone else finds him and gives him a lovely home. Caged birds have no idea where they live once they're outside. I'm so very sorry, Donna. I know how much you love your birds.

I don't think so. A bird that has only seen the inside of a house has no idea where it is once it's outside and in the sky. It doesn't know what its home looks like from the outside and its instinct is to keep flying.
The sad part is when they get tired and hungry and have no idea what to do. My bird came to me like that. It had obviously escaped and flown until it was exhausted. Luckily it dropped into my yard and I had it until it died of old age.
My old neighbor lost the bird he'd had inside for 20 years when it decided to make a break. It never found its way home. -
