How is their behavior indicative of them hating this new set up? I don't know how you can stand all the noise. My neighbors put a bird cage outside and holy crap! Them budgies are LOUD!

Lol! So it is a bird thing. Mine kept screaming to get out of their cage. So I opened the door. They immediately came flying out and around me as I was sitting at my desk.
It's like they want me away from the desk now. -

Seems like they don't. I thought budgies were adaptable birds. I just opened my blinds after having them closed all summer.
They freaked out about that too. They started calling to me really loudly as they were watching me. They they flew over to the blinds as if to INSPECT THINGS. -

Your budgies are smart. They like to know what's going on in their little world and I believe they really are inspecting things. Cool!

That can happen if you enter the room wearing lingerie. To those birds, it's like Michael Myers walking toward them. The horror!
I hope a bear throw a book at you, moon at you, and do a tap dance wearing a thong and leather boots.
