Should I get a pet?

At least, it won't bite me if I try to clean the cage, like when I had a hamster.
Yikes. I didn’t know that. I thought the hamster only tried to nip you when you picked her up. The crabs are slow moving, so you won’t have to worry about that. I don’t think they need much water. They do need something like a little miniature pond, in order to hydrate, but I don’t think it’s much. They mostly spend their time on land.
If at first you don't succeed, skydiving is not for you. -

Aren't you moving to a group home? Would they even allow a pet? I agree with whoever said get a plant. Maybe get a bunch of little succulent plants. They're kinda cool and they're hard to kill.

People have already suggested that you try taking care of a plant. Try a Snake Plant.
They are beautiful and very easy to maintain! Plant's are wonderful living things. They are great for the environment. They will add beauty to your room when you move. Please consider this.
You asked a pretty question; I've given you the ugly answer.
