Tl'dr = if dogs were huge, would they still be loyal?
but is it because of domination?
say if dogs were around the same sizes as Trex's, but were raised from birth by humans and getting all the normal love and attention one would give a puppy, do you think they would be the loyal beasts they are today or would they eventually start eating humans and doing whatever they wanted? These days you tug on a leash to stop a dog running off and the dogs has been raised to know that as hard as he pulls he wont be stronger than you so it eventually gives up without a fuss, but if they were huge, would they still be loyal. -

Probably. They are pack animals so if you are their leader, size won't matter. It's all up to the owner, really. If you assert yiurself, the dog will recognise you as its leader and will obey you. With good training, dogs won't be unruly on the lead. Great Danes are pretty huge and they're fine.
