My cat is dying - what can I do for it?

I'm pretty sure my cat is dying. It is very old and seems to have the symptoms of late stage kidney failure. It won't eat, It won't drink. I'm worried it's in pain. I could take it to the vet, but I don't trust the vet around here. He killed my dog and then charged me for it. Is there something I can do to ease my cat's discomfort?

That reminds me of one of my loyal dogs i ever had,he was so sick,but he holded on until i was home,then he died the same night…put her down yourself if you can

thank you for this. i took him to a vet and they couldn't quite tell what was wrong with him. he was very dehydrated though, so they gave him an iv and he seems a little more comfortable now. i'm feeding him with a syringe now and hoping for the best.
