Period dramas
I mostly did stuff behind the scenes though.
Acting isn't really my thing, even though some tried to talk me into it.
I worked as an extra in a movie also, and that only made me never want to do any acting…it was not a good experience for the most part.

Hope it goes well for ya!
On the movie set, I had to walk around
piles
of horse manure for 8 hours…lol
The setting was winter, but it was very summer-like in late spring and that was hard to be all bundled up for that many hours pretending to be freezing when I was actually dying from the heat.
They used salt and hosed it down to look like snow.
We couldn't leave the set…so luckily, I didn't have to use the restroom or I would've been in trouble - the horses just went in the street…lol
In between takes all these different photographers had us pose for pictures.
I had to be escorted by police to and from the set for wardrobe…and the crowd around the set watching all thought I was some celebrity cos they were all trying to get views of me and take pictures…lol…I was laughing to myself and saying relax people, I'm just part of the scenery.
Some girl was begging the cop escorting me to let her be in the movie and he was saying no, you have to go thru a casting agency for that - they don't just pull people off the street.
I had to get a special haircut for that days ahead, but they put a cap on me, so it didn't even matter…I'm on the screen for like 3 seconds…lol

— 6 years ago(October 24, 2019 03:04 AM)I know, people like to do behind the scenes in drama, if they have high school experience.
Thanks for letting me know that being an extra isn't even worth it.

a whole lot of waiting…they were so disorganized as well
Not much rushing around though…not in my situation.
A few funny moments made it worth it, but otherwise, I don't think I'd go thru that again.
Being on a set is cool though.

— 6 years ago(October 24, 2019 03:02 AM)Yes!
In community theater
8th/9th grade - Denver 36 chorus in
The Unsinkable Molly Brown
10th/11th grade - Hairless Jill (after Hairless Jo) in
Li'l Abner
12th grade / college freshman - teenager and parent in
Bye Bye Birdie
I was in drama in high school, too. I was an old lady in a small senior play at my 3rd high school. Not much there.
I was in Talented Theater in 11th grade. I was also the drama club secretary.
I took 3 theater classes at college: Acting 1, Improvisation, and Voice for the Actor, in the same semester, and registered as a Theater major.
I've done other things like choir and some ballet.
