I hear ya, but you can't actually send information using quantum entanglement, so there can be no faster than light communication. I don't know why, but that's just how it is.

Not exactly.
We don't know what is going on with quantum entanglement, ultimately, but so far it technically doesn't seem to actually violate the light speed barrier. Once you get into the details of what we can actually physically measure, nothing is moving faster than the speed of light.
