Yes.
In the spring, I can hear certain plants grow when I'm outside.
Also, you can hear rhubarb growing (random trivia) because it grows so fast. It's technically considered an unwanted weed by most gardeners because they overtake things quickly.

Plants do not, of course, have vocal cords or auditory systems. But they do experience a process known as βcavitation,β in which βair bubbles form, expand and explode in the xylem, causing vibrations,β the paper explains. These vibrations have been recorded in the past by direct, contact-based methods. This new study, which has yet to pass peer review, might be the first to show how plants might use sound to communicate with each other and with other living organisms, suggesting βa new modality of signaling.β
Wow, the left in Europe is really very hippyish. Lol.
My first reaction is to say these are involuntary physical sounds, physical reactions. They're just evolved survival traits. It's not as if the plant is a "being", an individual.
We know seeds are new "individuals" and they have a "parent" plant. One interesting fact about plants, is that a new one can be started from a cutting. So is this cutting the same "individual" as the original?
