Are they still looking for people to take a one-way trip? I heard that the cost to bring them back is prohibitive. If that's so, what's the length of stay on Mars where the cost curves cross?

No clue.
I doubt if even the promoters know the answer to that complex trade-off. I have no desire to take a one-way trip to Mars, but there are many politicians that I'd like to see take up the offer.
I believe they'll allow the one-way colonists to come back if they can come up with a cost-effective way to recycle the ships that brought them there.
