Piquet twice used a racially offensive expression in Portuguese when referring to Hamilton during a Brazilian podcast last November.
The 69-year-old was discussing the collision between Hamilton and Max Verstappen during the 2021 British GP, with the comments resurfacing on social media ahead of the first anniversary of the crash.
"The [racist term] put his car there to hit him on purpose," Piquet said.
Later asked if he felt Hamilton would not make the corner at Copse, Piquet went on to say: "Him? Never!
"He wanted to take him out no matter the cost. The [racist term] left the car there to hit him.
"It's because you don't know that bend. It's a very fast one, and two cars can't get through. There's no way two cars can go side by side there. It was a dirty trick!
"He's just lucky that the only other guy got screwed."

I wonder why he found it so difficult to simply use his first name. It's quite strange that this has taken 7 months to make the news though.

I'm a big F1 fan and support Lewis Hamilton. I saw this article earlier but couldn't find which word was used. I thought there was no way it would be
      that
      word

I know, it's bizarre that someone who must be at least somewhat used to broadcasting, would think it okay to use that term. I don't think at 69 he can even use being a dinosaur as an excuse.

No excuse at all. I hate how much crap Lewis has to deal with all the time. He gets accused of being arrogant, that he doesn't like to hang out with the other drivers, blah blah blah, but he has so much more **** to deal with. I'm still not over Abu Dhabi last year!

I guess it's to stir up drama because it's Silverstone this weekend and last year there was the controversy between Lewis and Max.

It's hilarious that he said "The [racist term] put his car there to hit him on purpose," when Nelson Piquet's son was actually ordered by his team a few years ago to purposefully crash into the wall to bring out the safety car to help their other driver
