While I'm aware that there are other geographical anomalies, a team from Ohio being in a Western Conference would make very little sense.

I do wish there was a little bit more balance to the league.
But, these things do run in cycles

NBA needs to be like MLB and the NFL and have East/Central/West teams in both conferences.
        AMERICAN CONFERENCE
        EAST
        Boston
        New York
        Philadelphia
        Washington
        Atlanta
        CENTRAL
        Chicago
        Milwaukee
        Minnesota
        New Orleans
        Memphis
        WEST
        LA Lakers
        Sacramento
        Utah
        Denver
        San Antonio
        NATIONAL CONFERENCE
        EAST
        Toronto
        New Jersey
        Orlando
        Miami
        Charlotte
        CENTRAL
        Cleveland
        Indiana
        Detroit
        Houston
        Dallas
        WEST
        Golden State
        Portland
        Phoenix
        LA Clippers
        Oklahoma City

            Is that a good thing?

I like this. Probably have the Lakers in the National and Clips in the American since the Lakers were there first and are more of a long time rival with the Warriors.

Basically, I'd put them right where there record is, behind the Warriors, Spurs, and Rockets and right there with the Clippers. They be a #4 or #5 seed.

They currently have a better record than the Rockets and beat them in their only meeting of the season thus far.
But yeah, anything from a 3rd-5th seed sounds right. They don't give a $hit about the regular season, which can be incredibly frustrating for fans.

Yep at very best 4th place since they'd have to play the West team 4 times a year. Then a higher caliber journey through the playoffs.

The Pistons and Hawks were better teams than the Rockets and Trail Blazers last year, while the Raptors were 1-1 against the Thunder
