The NFL best offense? Atlanta Falcons.

I made a predictions they would start 10-0 and they lose the first game of the season. But they look like the team I predicted, however, I also predicted they would lose their last 6 games and not make the playoffs. But 10-6 might be good enough to win the division this year.

Did you predict Shanahan would go from hated to hero? Way too early to tell but now that Cams kryptonite has been discovered i.e. hitting him a few times early, Atlanta looks like the team to beat in the NFC South.

Atlanta is happy to get a break from prolific super QB's. I'm still amazed by how good Kyle Shanahan's offense looks compared to last year. I will admit I was grumbling along with a lot of other fans in the pre season. I'm prepared to happily eat my words though.

Exactly, Shanahan is now thriving as OC and the Falcons do have the best offense in the NFL. Matt Ryan has always put up great stats but this year he is especially thriving and the Falcons also have the strongest running game they've had in the Ryan era.
The defense is what has impressed me today, they have been terrific and they are finally showing a pass rush after not having one for a few years -

With Brady back, the Patriots might snatch this title out of the Falcons' hands.
Oh, now I understand why you bash Cam Newton so much. You're a Falcons fan. Somehow I never realized it.
I like you, pankoeken. You write up smart posts, but I was getting a bit baffled by your Newton hatred, and wondering if it had to do with something less savory.
Now, if it's just plain sports rivalry, that's perfectly fine. I'm back to liking your posts.
Anyway, this is your year. After 3 years with the Panthers on top of the NFC South, now it's your turn. I don't see the Panthers recovering the lead anytime soon, with our offensive line and secondary problems, and our banged-up quarterback. -

Yes, Cam drew so much criticism last season (most of it, I confess, totally justified) that it was easy to miss who was legitimately against him like you, and who only hated him because he's a successful and cocky black kid. You know that unfortunately we do get this kind of poster here. Since I otherwise always liked your posts, I was a bit confused so now it's reassuring to know that you hate Cam for good reason.

Yeah, people really hate Lebron, Jordan, Richard Sherman, Curry. You know, successful cocky black guys?
It has nothing to do with Newton's attitude
It's all just racism. That's why everyone hates Russel Wilson.
Yup. -

Russell Wilson doesn't get hate because he isn't cocky. Cocky black athletes are hated, and tons of people hate Lebron and Richard Sherman. There is a hateful undercurrent with certain white people about black athletes that have that cocky swagger, a feeling of "that cocky black thug needs to shut up and know his place". Granted, Newton can be easy to dislike with his showboating, his payment scandal at Auburn and his loud talking before Super Bowl 50 but then walking off and not saying anything afterwards made him look like a sore loser ( although I don't really think that's a bad thing ), but all cocky black athletes get way more backlash than their cocky white counterparts because of racism

It's really weird how you and Louigi think so much alike
Xe
louigi.
And don't sell Cam short, sure he's cocky.it's true that he had that Auburn payment scandal.nobody denies that he showboats..or that he pouts if things don't go his way..hell..he pouted like a child after losing.nobody's arguing against any of that.
.but he also ran away from a fumble in a one score SB and cost his team any chance they had at winning.
You're an idiot Luigi. The league is mostly black .most pro athletes are blackyet Newton is incredibly disliked.
It has nothing to do with race and everything to do with him being a douche and his attitude.
Yeah, some people don't like Lebron, some people don't like Sherman, but that's true of any athlete.
You go around making "too bad they don't make band aids for feelings" commercials then pout like a baby after losing the SB you're going to get laughed at and people aren't going to like you very much.
Other than Last year Newton has been a pretty average QB. Last year he had a great season up until the Broncos beat him down.
This year? He's just a "turnover machine".
You've already given up on the Panther's season so I don't get why you're so defensive lol. Oh, I'm sorry.I mean Louigi has already given up on the Panther's season. I keep forgetting that you and he are two totally different people. -
pankoeken — 9 years ago(October 09, 2016 05:44 PM)
For the most part the two "cockiest" positions in football are WR and it's defensive counterpart DB. You really don't see white guys excelling at either position to the degree that you see black guys so it's hard to find white guys talking as much smack that fans are aware of. I'm sure if there was a white guy that was constantly running his mouth just as many people would hate him as they do the Sherman's et al. To use baseball as an example, Bryce Harper is loathed by a LOT of baseball fans because he's a cocky loudmouth. Last time I looked he was white.

Tim Tebow and Johnny Manziel get at least as much hate as Newton.
It has nothing to do with race and everything to do with Newton's behavior. Guys like Louigi kill me. Cam did his dance all last season, he made commercials that were a slap in the face to anyone who doesn't like his showboating, then they turn around and blame the reaction he gets on racism.
It's just dumb.
Tom Brady is one of the most disliked players in the NFL, if not the most disliked. Yet.he's white. It's almost like one's behavior has something to do with how one is perceived. -

First of all dumbass, I am not this Luigi person, and I am not NTDT either. I do not have a sock puppet account.
It has lots of to with racism, if Cam Newton were white he would not get this much hate. His personality does make him an easy target for hate but you can't deny racism plays a role.
Brady is hates because of jealousy, he has had more success than anyone and people are going to hate anyone that has won 4 Super Bowls. -
jimanchower — 9 years ago(October 09, 2016 06:01 PM)
Nobody hated Joe Montana.
And like the other guy said Louigi.I mean
Xe
louigi.Bryce Harper is hated.
Keep telling yourself it's just racism though. Like I said racism totally explains why Russel Wilson is so hated. Or Maybe it has something to do with Russel not being a cocky, showboating, trash talking ass? -

I'm an Atlanta fan I better enjoy it while I can.
I'm not being cocky just happy the team seems to have righted itself even if it's temporarily. Although they look a LOT more for real offensively this year than they have in a while. Very balanced and they added a much needed center and gave Matt Ryan several legitimate options to throw to besides Julio Jones. After Cam Newton's insane year in 2015 and the Falcon's collapse in the 2nd part of the season it's great to have hope.
Now if they will get rid of Thomas Dimitroff and his penchant for making horrible draft picks, the team might be worthy of the new bazillion dollar stadium. -

What was ATL last year, 5-0 to start the season? And didn't they finish the year 0-5? Put down the Viagra for now; it's a long season.
Edit: I guess it wasn't such a bad ending. 2-6 for the second half.
Maybe. Maybe not. Maybe f_uck yourself.
