How in blue hell did this guy make the All-Star team?
Hoping Klentak's plan is just to use him as a needed left handed bat in the lineup as the young kids develop and then at the trade deadline he's gone.
1 year - $9 million - it's not the end of the world - they have a ton of money - but
I want to see all these kids getting a good amount of playing time come mid season.

He is injury prone.The dude has a bum left knee.Saunders had a better first half before the all star game.
Exactly, if he starts to slump or get injured again this coming season. , he could be let go.
Either way, Phillies have an improvement and a decent bullpen this season. -

I'm not a Phillies fan but this Saunders trade doesn't sound good.
I just saw his stats with the Blue Jays.I take it back for criticizing GM Jack Z.

I was wondering what they would do to replace the strikeouts they would be missing when Howard left.
I wish him well, seems like a great guy and I know his Mom has been real sick for years , but not really a piece in a long term plan.
