Driving left of center means you were crossing over middle into oncoming traffic, so sounds like it's really 2 tickets , one for speeding one for reckless driving.

Considered two separate violations. How much over the speed limit? Is the speed they wrote down accurate?

I don't know what driving left of centre is; if half the fine is for speeding, unless you were doing 180kmh, that's excessive.
Having said that, if an American drives like a typical American in my home state of Victoria they'll be going home with thousands of dollars in fines. Most of the time you won't even know you've been hit. -

We have a catalouge that applies to the entire country.
The fine (money and loss of the licence) depend on the speed, and if you were within or without the limit of built-up area: village, town, citywhatever.
My tickets ranged from 20 Euro min to 35 Euros max. The last oneoh no, a beep JewI hav

A normal speeding ticket (11-12 over) averages $160. A reckless driving ticket can be $500-$2500 and time in jail for 2nd/3rd offenses.
Hell, parking tickets are $75.
Sounds like reckless driving for crossing the yellow line since he had an attorney go with him.
Thats a clown question , BRO.

Maybe in your state, but in California, it's much higher. States have different fines. You should preface your post with "in my state (name of state), the fines are"
